Job Summary
A SUE Technician III is responsible for managing a Utility Location and Subsurface Utility Engineering field crew, ensuring the quality of work, safety, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The role requires proficiency in various SUE locating equipment and strong knowledge of underground utility systems. Responsibilities include training crew members, collaborating with construction crews, maintaining accurate records of utility locations, conducting inspections, and managing field data collection. Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset are essential for success in this position.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience as a utility locator or SUE Technician
- Proficiency with SUE locating equipment, total stations, GPS, and vacuum excavation equipment
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and radar
- Ability to interpret maps and records
- Ability to walk outdoors for long periods in various terrains
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed
