Job Summary
The SUE Technician III is responsible for managing a Utility Location and Subsurface Utility Engineering field crew, ensuring safety, quality, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include training crew members on equipment, collaborating with construction crews, conducting inspections, maintaining records of utility locations, and directing fieldwork. Candidates must have significant experience, proficiency with SUE and locating equipment, and be able to work under various environmental conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 5 to 10 years of progressive experience as a utility locator or SUE Technician.
- Proficiency with SUE locating equipment, total stations and GPS, and vacuum excavation equipment.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems and radar.
- Ability to interpret maps and records.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, carry, and operate equipment as needed on the project.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in fast-paced environments.
Desired Qualifications
- Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
