Job Summary
The SUE Technician II (Utility Locator) role involves coordinating a field crew, ensuring work quality and safety, and accurately locating underground utility lines using maps and specialized equipment. Candidates should have 3-5 years of relevant experience and strong knowledge of underground utility systems. The role requires physical stamina as it involves extensive outdoor work in diverse terrains and conditions. Responsibilities include maintaining records, collaborating with construction teams, conducting inspections, and adhering to safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience as a SUE Technician or Utility Locator.
- Strong knowledge of underground utility systems.
- Ability to interpret maps and records.
- Familiarity with utility locating equipment, such as electromagnetic locators and ground-penetrating radar.
- Ability to walk outdoors for long periods of time through various terrains.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and operate equipment as needed.
Desired Qualifications
- Current Commercial Driver’s License is a plus.
- Self-motivated with an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with 811 ticket managing.
- Motivated to learn and develop your career path.
