Job Summary
Operate utility designating equipment to locate subsurface utilities, mark findings, and excavate as needed. Interpret roadway and utility construction plans, record accurate field notes, and collect data using total stations, data collectors, and GPS. Perform calculations and document assignments while leading project assignments and supervising multiple crews. Work outdoors 90% of the time in all weather conditions, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Requires valid driver's license, background check, and three years of experience with vacuum excavation and ground penetrating radar. Travel required.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Able to pass Background Check
- Must be able to fully comprehend and interpret roadway and utility construction plans, and utility record drawings
- Skills in mathematics and coordinate geometry
- Familiarity with total stations, data collectors and GPS
- Ability to lead project assignments
- Ability to travel required
- Use of multiple types of utility designating equipment
- Good organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the successful application of multiple types of utility designating and locating equipment, with demonstrated ability to lead project assignments and supervise multiple crews
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to work 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday (Minimum)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50lbs as needed
Desired Qualifications
- Land Surveying experience a plus
