Job Summary
Set up, adjust, and operate surveying equipment including electronic total stations, data collectors, and GPS to measure distances, elevations, and angles for boundary, topography, ATLA, right of way, and construction surveys. Record accurate field notes, document assignments, and perform calculations while maintaining and operating survey vehicles. Lead project assignments and supervise multiple crews, utilizing vacuum excavation and ground penetrating radar procedures. Work outdoors in all weather conditions, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs, with 90% field time and 10% office time. Requires a valid driver's license, successful motor vehicle screening, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
- Valid Driver's License Required
- Able to pass Background Check
- Must be able to fully comprehend and interpret roadway and utility construction plans, and utility record drawings
- Ability to lead project assignments
- Ability to travel required
- Use of multiple types of utility designating equipment
- Good organizational, written, and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge of Vacuum Excavation and Ground Penetrating Radar equipment/procedures
- Able to work 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday – Friday (Minimum)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to bend, kneel, lift and carry up to 50lbs as needed
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the successful application of multiple types of utility designating and locating equipment, with demonstrated ability to lead project assignments and supervise multiple crews
- High school diploma or equivalent

- Land Surveying experience a plus
