SUD Provider Liaison

Job Summary

Process all invoices for grant programs and special grants while monitoring submission and revision of grants. Serve as the dedicated liaison for the SUD provider network to handle purchase order issuance and invoice processing needs. Collect and analyze data for mandatory state and federal reports, track provider network grant utilization and expenditures, and facilitate internal reallocation committee meetings. Present regular updates regarding funding utilization and program outcomes, ensuring all expenditures are allowable, reasonable, and necessary. Coordinate fund rescission or reallocation to prevent service lapses, assist in procuring service providers for special grants, and organize technical assistance webinars. Act as the primary point of contact for providers struggling with data entry portals and establish Standard Operating Procedures for grant monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • A Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Psychology, Public Health, Public Administration, Healthcare Administration, Health Management, or a related field
  • A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record
  • Proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19

  • Knowledge of DWIHN policies, procedures and practices
  • Knowledge of the DWIHN provider network and community resources
  • Knowledge of the Michigan Mental Health Code
  • Knowledge of MDHHS policies, rules, regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of Federal policies, rules, regulations and procedures as it relates to DWIHN
  • Knowledge of MHWIN
  • Knowledge of the clinical care process (screening, assessment, treatment planning, case management, and continuing care)
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, local, regional and national codes, laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of Medical Necessity Criteria and Service Utilization Guidelines for Behavioral Health Services
  • Knowledge of the American Society of Addiction Medicine Patient Placement Criteria (ASAM)
  • Knowledge of resources for each level of care of admission
  • Knowledge of regulatory and industry best practice standards
  • Knowledge of Community Mental Health Services Programs (CMHSP) and Prepaid Inpatient Health Plans (PIHP)
  • Proficiency in the entire grant lifecycle from pre-award research to post-award closeout
  • Ability to translate complex clinical concepts into persuasive and compliant grant application
