Job Summary
Maintain a caseload of 25 to 30 chronically absent students by meeting mentees each morning, making positive phone calls home, and conducting regular one-on-one check-ins to explore barriers to attendance. Monitor attendance data using the Student Profile portal, create family goal plans, and collaborate with the Community School team to identify interventions and connect families with community resources. Assist with home visits, recruit additional mentors, and advocate for program needs through coalition building while maintaining thorough documentation of all outreach and assessment efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Two years or more experience in the field of youth development
- Family outreach and home visit experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent documentation skills
- Facility to motivate others toward achieving goals
- Ability to develop alliances with high risk and difficult to engage youth and families
- Knowledge of community resources and counseling practices with high risk populations
- Outstanding collaborative skills
- Bilingual Spanish/ English
- Ability to maintain State Central Registry (SCR) clearance
- Fingerprint clearance
