Job Summary
Conduct holistic one-on-one coaching with students on caseloads, developing success plans for those on academic probation and providing proactive outreach for early alerts. Deliver workshops on study skills, time management, and stress reduction while co-leading SOAR discussion sections and mentoring approximately 24 peer leaders. Nudge students via text regarding registration holds and financial aid deadlines, utilizing a management system to monitor needs and maintain accurate records. Assist with hiring new peer leaders, supporting new student orientation activities, and collaborating with campus partners during registration periods. Complete required training and performance management cycles while fostering an inclusive community.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 2+ years of undergraduate or postgraduate experience in student services, such as advising underrepresented students, mentoring, tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), study skills development, and academic or other coaching, or related work experience
- Employment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical
- Must be able to report early, stay late or work different shifts depending on staffing levels
- Must be able to perform all essential job functions whenever needed and during campus emergencies when necessary
- Must be able to travel up to 5% of the work schedule, which includes local (Twin Cities Metro area) and national travel; overnight trips average 1-2 trips per year
