Job Summary
SUE Technician II at T2 Utility Engineers in Golden, CO conducts subsurface utility engineering field activities, including operating SUE locating and designation equipment (pipe/cable locators, GPR, vacuum excavation), collecting field data, and supporting surveying tasks. The role involves daily reporting, field sketches, driving with a CDL not required, safety setup of traffic operations, outdoor work in all climates, and up to 50% travel including nights/weekends. Training is provided; no prior industry experience is required, with opportunity for advancement within a leading utility locating firm.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 4+ years of experience in the utility locating industry or as a SUE Field Tech
- Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical (U.S. only)
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation (U.S. only)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment
- Ability to work outdoors in all climates
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, up to 2 week continuous stay
- Work nights and weekends when required
- Must have a good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
- OSHA Safety certifications are a plus
