Job Summary
Carry out the absent teacher's prepared lesson plans and perform all essential functions from their job description during their absence. Travel to various buildings throughout the district as scheduled and remain for the entire workday. Maintain effective classroom management and demonstrate a patient, calm demeanor with students while following verbal and written instructions. Complete an interview with Human Resources, undergo background and reference checks, and finish orientation training before employment begins. Compensation ranges from $100 to $150 per day depending on certification status.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management
- Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Patient and calm demeanor with students and others
- Basic academic skills
- Some experience working with children in an instructional setting
- Must be able to travel to various buildings throughout the district as scheduled
- Must be available to stay for the entire workday
- Must complete interview with Human Resources Office
- Must complete background and reference check
- Must complete orientation/training before employment
