Job Summary
Assume responsibilities of the classroom teacher as directed by the campus principal and/or designee, providing instruction in the absence of the classroom teacher. Check in with the campus administrator or site coordinator upon arrival, providing the assigned job number. Comply with campus attendance and discipline procedures while monitoring student activities inside and outside the classroom, including the lunchroom and assigned duty. Assist students with basic physical needs, provide instructional modification and behavior management as needed, and document student progress and activities daily. Maintain a professional code of ethics, participate in required professional development activities, and follow established safety procedures and district policies. Submit official transcripts with thirty credit hours, three professional references, and a valid Texas teaching certificate for interview consideration.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Texas Teaching Certificate, if applying as a Certified Substitute Teacher
- Official Transcripts with a minimum of thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college/university
- Three (3) professional references
- One (1) of the references needs to be from your current supervisor if you are working, your most recent supervisor if you are not
- Command of the English language to include the ability to read, write, and speak
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
