Job Summary
Substitute Teacher responsible for implementing lesson plans and maintaining a safe, orderly learning environment in accordance with school and state policies. Duties include maintaining classroom discipline, supervising students, reporting injuries or incidents, completing substitute reports, and attending district/state credentialing and orientation. Requires ability to follow oral and written directions, establish effective working relationships, and apply classroom management strategies. Credentialing requirements (background check, fingerprinting) must be completed.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions
- Ability to establish effective working relationships
- Maintain effective classroom management strategies
- Attend orientation/training session
- Complete required District and state credentialing requirements (Background check, Fingerprinting)
- Duties performed in school settings (classrooms, gymnasium, cafeteria, auditorium)
- Regular instruction to special needs children may be necessary
- Frequent walking and standing; ability to lift up to 30 pounds; occasional lifting up to 40 pounds
- Daily interaction with students and staff; maintain confidentiality and safety in accordance with policies
