Job Summary
Provide students with learning activities, instruction, and supervision by implementing the lesson plans as directed by the absent teacher, principal, or other responsible staff. Requires a high school diploma/GED and a substitute certificate or enrollment in an Alternative Certification Program or valid Texas teaching certificate. Candidates should have experience managing groups of students, instructing, and applying knowledge of core subjects, curriculum, and instruction, along with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Responsibilities include implementing lesson plans, utilizing appropriate instructional strategies and technology, collaborating with teachers to modify curriculum as needed, maintaining a positive classroom environment, supervising students, submitting attendance and substitute reports, and following district policies and safety procedures. This is a part-time role in Sharyland Independent School District (Mission, TX), with daily pay between $90 and $130 per day.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Substitute certificate or currently enrolled in an Alternative Certification Program or Valid Texas teaching certificate
- Experience managing groups of students and providing instruction
- Knowledge of core academic subject assigned
- Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
