Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher will support the Oneida Nation School System by delivering instruction and evaluating educational programs for secondary level students, while promoting an understanding of Oneida heritage. Responsibilities include lesson planning, student evaluation, and maintaining a positive classroom environment.
Required Qualifications
- Instruct assigned classes using curriculum and texts approved by school administration
- Prepare and submit lesson plans
- Integrate Oneida language and culture into lesson plans
- Evaluate and analyze students’ needs
- Use a variety of instructional techniques
- Develop instructional lesson plans
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Maintain accurate records regarding students’ attendance and progress
- Attend meetings and in-service training programs
Additional Requirements
- Must comply with Bureau of Indian Education criminal history records check
- Individuals of Indian ancestry and Veterans will be given preference
- Must pass a background check and adhere to confidentiality standards
- Must be willing to obtain additional training
