Job Summary
Report to the division office at 7:45 AM to collect materials and schedules, then deliver instruction aligned with assigned lesson plans while maintaining a neat, orderly classroom environment. Guide student learning toward curriculum objectives, take attendance, and ensure students are never left unattended. Perform duties such as lunch and recess duty, manage disciplinary referrals, and execute emergency evacuation procedures. Monitor student safety and well-being throughout the day, adhering to school policies and responding to immediate needs. Work independently in a fast-paced setting from 7:45 AM to 3:20 PM, Monday through Friday.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or experience and skill in specific, relevant field of study that applies to the classroom
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
- Professional manner with all school personnel and students
- Demonstrate functional knowledge of computers and all aspects of the Microsoft Office Professional software programs
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines and accomplish specific tasks as requested
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as necessitated by work assignment
- Ability to maintain order and discipline in a classroom
- Ability to constantly monitor the safety and well-being of students
- Ability to respond at a moment's notice in an emergency following school procedures in order to protect the safety of students
- Physical ability (able to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally) and dexterity to perform the duties and responsibilities of the objectives in the lesson
- Demonstrate an understanding of the needs of diverse constituencies within the school community and the skills and attitude to deliver an exemplary experience equitably to all students
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Be able to 30 pounds
- Work in varied and changing weather conditions, including extreme heat
