Job Summary
Teach scheduled classes, prepare written summaries of work completed, and assume all duties and responsibilities of the absent teacher while following their lesson plans. Consult with principals or staff to resolve questions, comply with building procedures, and implement effective pupil management procedures. Promote a positive learning environment, uphold student conduct codes, and ensure staff and student safety by never leaving students unsupervised. Report concerns to administrators, respect personal privacy, and maintain confidentiality of privileged information. Bring identification for verification, complete the information sheet at the Brave Center, and submit required forms.
Required Qualifications
- Valid North Dakota Teaching License for long-term substitute positions
- At least 18 years of age
- Ability to follow both oral and written directions and instructions
- Ability to communicate in both oral and written means
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to students, parents, and staff
- Satisfactory completion of the interview process
- Verifiable record of satisfactory performance in previous employment
- Satisfactory completion of a state and federal background check
