Job Summary
As a Substitute Teacher for Head Start in Logan County, you willCollaborate with the Head Teacher, Family Advocate, and families to plan and implement the Head Start curriculum for preschool children preparing them for kindergarten and beyond.Work in the center classroom alongside children and parents, handling daily routines, environmental setup, group times, outdoor activities, and mealtime activities.Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, sanitary, and organized learning environment and participate in activities that promote each child’s development across all domains.Support developmental screenings and contribute to family engagement and male involvement activities throughout the program year.Participate in home visits, plans, and parent/teacher conferences as requested for professional development. All positions require a background check, drug test, and physical.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- CDA or enrollment in CDA program within two years (preferred)
- Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred
- Background check, drug test, and physical required
- Ability to lift 40 pounds, stoop, reach, bend, move easily with small children
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
