Job Summary

Support and act in accordance with the school's mission by fostering a Christ-centered, safe, and supportive environment for students. Interact with colleagues respectfully while maintaining high ethical standards and serving as a Christian role model to mentor students. Demonstrate appropriate planning and preparation for instruction, providing timely feedback and evaluation. Carry out specific assignments including service learning, advisory programs, and assigned supervision as determined by leadership. Honor confidentiality of all school, student, and family information while complying with the Employee Handbook. Engage in self-reflection and develop an annual growth and renewal plan aligned with professional development requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • A high school diploma
  • Classroom subbing preferred
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, handbooks, and procedure manuals
  • Write routine reports and correspondence
  • Speak effectively before groups of students and staff
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Demonstrate a reasonable level of computer literacy
  • Basic proficiency in word processing
  • Basic proficiency in e-mailing
  • Basic proficiency in accessing the Internet
  • Basic proficiency in school management software
  • Basic proficiency in curriculum mapping software
  • Acknowledge Christ as Savior
  • Support the school's Mission Statement, Vision Statement, Core Values and Statement of Faith
  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions towards others
  • Be committed to God's Biblical standards for sexual conduct
  • Possess evidence of competence in area of instruction, or other adequate preparation, background, or experience as determined by the school administrator
  • Have a working knowledge of and follow LCA's Employee Handbook, Parent & Student Handbook
  • Sign and live by the school's Statement of Faith as a condition for employment and continued employment in this ministry
  • Maintain confidentiality in the operation of the classroom and the school
  • Refrain from unwholesome talk, including profanity, slang or jokes that may be offensive
  • Place his/her school ministry ahead of other jobs or volunteer activities
  • Maintain a personal appearance that models cleanliness, modesty, and good taste consistent with school policy
  • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to enter data into a computer
  • Close vision
  • Distance vision
  • Depth perception
  • Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
  • Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone
  • Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
  • Physical agility to bend, stoop, climb stairs, and reach overhead
