Job Summary
Create and maintain a safe, fun, and age-appropriate classroom environment while providing direct instruction using an established curriculum. Fill the role of assistant or lead teacher during staff absences, assisting with lesson preparation, implementation, and activities on the playground and in the gym. Independently solve problems and resolve concerns with students throughout the day while maintaining positive relationships with teachers, staff, and parents. Comply with state regulations for licensed preschools and represent King's Schools and CRISTA Ministries standards to students and families. Perform other duties as assigned, including maintaining confidentiality and composure in a busy setting.
Required Qualifications
- Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
- Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God
- Prayerfully seeks God's will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA's Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC)
- Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC)
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader
- Washington State Initial ECE Certificate (12 credits) or equivalent
- Two years prior experience working with children
- Negative Tb skin test prior to first day of work
- Child/infant CPR and first aid
- HIV and blood borne pathogen training
- Proof of MMR vaccination and food handler's permit
- Proof of exemption of STARS basic 20-hour waiver or take the class within 3 months of hire date
- Commitment to work with multi-ethnic, culturally diverse student and parent population
- Able to work with the public in a friendly and courteous manner
- Maintain confidentiality and composure in a busy, open setting
- A patient, child-centered temperament, professionalism, and a team unity mind set
- Strong ability to communicate clearly to young children as well as the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to teachers, parents, and supervisors
- Flexible and able to change direction quickly in response to a variety of situations that can occur in the classroom
- Able to work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, students and their parents
- Must agree with and support without reservation CRISTA's Statement of Faith
- Must conduct themselves in accordance with the religious beliefs and practices that flow from that Statement of Faith and CRISTA's Christian Community Policy
