Job Summary
Assist in the education and daily program of a Head Start or Early Head Start classroom, implementing all functions while ensuring every child receives individual attention. Maintain classroom safety and cleanliness, including playgrounds and restrooms, while managing staff/child ratios, discipline, and field trips. Provide supportive services for child abuse/neglect cases, report illnesses or accidents, and handle home-style meal service. Complete mandatory training hours, documentation, and in-service trainings, plus acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid certification. Work with children and families with limited English proficiency, operate office machinery, and function effectively without extensive supervision.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Must be able to serve and effectively communicate, to the extent feasible, with children and families with no or limited English proficiency
- Working knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic
- Computer literate
- Ability to work effectively without extensive supervision
- Ability to operate all office machinery
- Ability to function with diplomacy and tact
- Handle all student information with utmost confidentiality
- Report suspected child abuse/neglect to administrator and law enforcement agency
- Abide by all Innovative Network of Knowledge policies and procedures
- Abide by DFPS and OHS regulations and standards
- Ability to work as a team player
- Must have reliable transportation
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Complete and pass health examination
- Confirm work eligibility status
- Successfully pass driving history check
- Clear criminal background check
- Required to lift up to 60 pounds
- Required to stand, sit on the floor, bend, squat, kneel, lift children, and engage with children
- Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
