Job Summary
Support multiple classrooms serving children ages 0–6 by assisting with daily routines, activities, and maintaining a calm, engaging, and nurturing learning environment. Collaborate with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and continuity of care while modeling patience, professionalism, and kindness in every interaction. This on-call, as-needed position offers flexible hours and days varying based on school needs, ideal for part-time or supplemental work. No formal Montessori training is required; orientation and onboarding provide necessary training. Many substitutes progress to full-time Assistant Teacher roles within the global Montessori community.
Required Qualifications
- Negative TB test within the last 12 months
- Valid state background check
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Warm, friendly, and dependable demeanor
- Passion for working with young children
Desired Qualifications
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) units
- Recent experience working with children ages 0–6
