Job Summary
Deliver lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the regular classroom teacher while managing classroom behavior and maintaining a safe, respectful learning environment. Provide clear instruction and support to students throughout the school day, adapting to various grade levels and subject areas as needed. Take attendance, complete required documentation, and supervise students during transitions, lunch, and recess. Communicate effectively with school staff and administrators to ensure continuity of learning. Requires a valid substitute teaching license, clean background check, and ability to follow the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct. Flexible on-call scheduling available with pay of $100/day.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid substitute teaching license or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)
- Clean criminal background checks
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different classroom settings
- Patience, professionalism, and a student-centered mindset
- Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
- May be required to attend Safe & Engaged training
