Job Summary
Deliver instruction in person, face to face in a physical space, and diagnose, prescribe, evaluate, and guide student learning experiences to support social, emotional, and intellectual development. Share responsibility for curriculum development, educational procedures, and student activities while supervising paraeducators, support staff, and volunteers. Provide comprehensive reports to parents and guardians on academic progress, maintain cordial relations with colleagues and the community, and participate in district in-service training programs. Ensure compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics and demonstrate competence in classroom management and planning. Maintain good public relations and appropriate school-home working relationships while remaining flexible and innovative in providing learning activities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid license issued by the Iowa Board of Educational Examiners endorsed for the position assigned
- Competence in content knowledge appropriate to the teaching position
- Competence in planning and preparing for instruction
- Competence in classroom management
- Ability to enhance academic performance and support for implementation of the school district's student achievement goals
- Competence in using strategies to deliver instruction that meet the multiple learning needs of students
- Competence in using a variety of methods to monitor student learning
- Engagement in professional growth
- Fulfillment of professional responsibilities established by the school district
- Compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct and Ethics established by the State Board of Educational Examiners
