Job Summary
Report to the school office daily to retrieve schedules and materials, then implement provided lesson plans while maintaining classroom control and student safety. Perform duties for absent teachers including lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, and bus detail as applicable. Collect student assignments, report daily activities and completed plans, and immediately document any student injuries or discipline issues. Ensure adequate supervision to protect student welfare and adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Valid Ohio Teaching license OR valid Ohio Substitute Teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
- Strong moral character
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to serve as a role model for students
- Sensitivity to and support for the needs of students with disabilities and/or from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Ability to adhere to and enforce all board policies
- Ability to model non-discriminatory practices in all activities
- Ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students
