Job Summary
Assist teachers with instructor-related work by providing additional time for direct instruction and reinforcing skills through individual or small group activities. Support learning using flashcards, games, worksheets, and other instructional aides while helping students complete assignments. Manage classroom operations by assisting with lunch, attendance records, and maintaining accurate student files. Supervise and escort students to and from buses, study halls, and other school areas. Maintain an orderly environment, distribute supplies, construct learning materials, and prepare bulletin boards. Perform clerical duties including technology operation and photocopying. Provide input on daily and long-range program planning. Commit to working four days per month as an active substitute.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years old
- Possess good morale character
- Hold a high school diploma
- Must be physically capable of frequently lifting or moving up to 50 pounds
- Must commit to working 4 days per month to be considered an active sub
Desired Qualifications
- Preference given to persons 21 years old or older
- Preference of two years of full-time secondary education
- Two years of work experience with children
