Job Summary
Assist teachers with daily classroom management, including organizing materials, supporting students with toileting needs, and managing challenging behaviors. Provide patient, attentive care to young people while maintaining clear communication with parents, students, and staff. Help maintain classroom organization and follow teacher directions to ensure a safe, consistent learning environment. This role requires flexibility and the ability to work with diverse student needs.
Required Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- Civil Service approved
- state and federal clearance based on a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check
- extreme patience working with young people
- helpful and attentive to directions of the teacher
- Willingness and ability to assist in lifting and toileting of student
- Patience, consistency, able to manage challenging behaviors
- strong communication/interpersonal skills with parents, students and staff
- flexible and accommodating
