Substitute/Seasonal Custodian

Job Summary

Conduct daily custodial duties including sanitizing restrooms, sweeping floors, emptying trash, and cleaning floors, furnishings, fixtures, walls, and windows. Check daily schedules for school activity preparation and clean-up, anticipate and replenish consumable supplies, and perform outdoor tasks such as weeding, trimming, and mowing. Assist in receiving deliveries, inspect packages, and confirm inventory with packing lists. Comply with MSDS information, health and safety guidelines, and drug-free workplace rules while utilizing required district software. Work on a part-time or hourly basis with a maximum of 1500 hours annually at $16.50 per hour.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Work skills substantiated by training and/or relevant work experience
  • Ability to cope with stressful and/or adverse conditions
  • Collects records and maintains data accurately
  • Applies basic mathematical concepts correctly
  • Reacts productively to interruptions/changing conditions
  • Interacts comfortably and confidently with the public
  • Demonstrates dependability/flexibility
  • Works effectively with limited supervision
  • Demonstrates basic proficiency in the use of software/technology
  • Embodies high ethical standards and integrity
  • Accepts responsibility for decisions and conduct
  • Meets all mandated health screening requirements
  • Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
  • Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check
  • Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines
