Job Summary
Enforce all authorized laws, rules, and regulations while patrolling assigned areas for disturbances, fires, safety hazards, and suspicious persons. Perform building security checks, issue visitor passes, investigate vehicular accidents, and prepare written accident reports. Aid visitors, students, and staff; maintain harmonious relationships with local law enforcement; and provide escort services as directed. Participate in the disciplinary process, attend in-service training, and cultivate a climate free of harassment to ensure a safe learning environment. Maintain accountability of staff, students, and property while modeling appropriate career success standards.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of High School graduate or equivalent
- Valid driver's license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record
- Ability to obtain CPR/FA Certification
- Ability to obtain a bus driver's license
- Ability to effectively relate to student population
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Position requires an ability to operate office equipment and drive an automobile
- Must be able to interact with team members and maintain an effective working relationship with all facility staff and departments
Desired Qualifications
- Prefer three to six months experience in a security or work-related capacity
- Preferred knowledge of riot and crowd control techniques and law enforcement procedures
