Job Summary
Provide campus health services in the absence of the school nurse, implementing the School Health Program and coordinating with administrators to address health needs. Administer annual screenings, maintain health records and confidentiality, interpret health information to teachers/parents/physicians, perform home visits when necessary, participate in ARD processes, and liaison with community organizations to maximize health outcomes for students. Conduct health counseling and preventive education, ensure immunization compliance under Texas Immunization Law, report suspected neglect or abuse, and use technology as appropriate in the school setting.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Texas
- Associate Degree in Nursing, or higher, from an accredited college or university
- Certification in CPR, Seizure First Aide/Stop the Bleed, vision, hearing, spinal and acanthosis nigricans
- Two (2) years’ experience in Community Health and/or Pediatric nursing.
