Job Summary
Provide homework assistance, academic enrichment, and physical activity using provided curriculum. Create an engaging environment that fosters belonging while supporting students in making positive behavior choices. Engage children and youth by following, implementing, and assisting in creating lesson plans. Ensure student safety by assisting with site setup, break-down, and ongoing maintenance to keep the community orderly. Maintain safety protocols by taking roll and reviewing sign-in/sign-out records. Identify student needs and communicate them to the Site Coordinator, teachers, school administration, parents, and volunteers. Commit to a full-year program by arriving on-time daily and completing time cards appropriately. Participate in staff development activities. Available at least three days a week (Monday-Friday) between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with young children
- Ability to inspire and motivate
- Proof of graduation from High School or G.E.D.
- 48 college semester or 60 college quarter units
- Passing an Instructional Aide Test
- Ability to speak and write standard English appropriate in a public school setting
- Availability at least 3 days a week (Monday-Friday)
- Passing Live Scan (criminal background check via fingerprinting)
- Providing a clear TB test
- Passing Advanced Math and English skills (K – 8) testing
