Job Summary
Conduct substitute preschool teaching or aide duties across Alameda County, San Francisco, and multiple cities, requiring in-person facility attendance and reliable commuting. Perform 4-8 hour shifts on call, accepting assignments early in the morning for 2-5 full days weekly. Provide direct care to infants through school-age children, including diapering, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at the child's eye level. Maintain Basic English skills and pass health screenings including TB, influenza, measles, and pertussis tests. Hold a Mandated Reporter Certificate and clear criminal background. Complete 6-12 Early Childhood Education units depending on role, with assistance available for additional training.
Required Qualifications
- Must be available for 4-8 hour shifts on call
- Must be available to devote a minimum of 2-5 full days a week to receive day-to-day job assignments early in the morning
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Be in good health and agree to health screening including a TB test, influenza, measles, and pertussis
- Mandated Reporter Certificate
- Clear Criminal Background
- Must be willing to travel
- Must have Basic English Skills
- Must be willing to change diapers
- Have the capability to lift up to 50 pounds or more in case of an emergency and to work at the child's eye level
- CA Child Development Associate Teacher Permit, or higher
- Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
- 12 core units Early Childhood Education / Development Semester Units including Child Development
- 12 core units Early Childhood Education / Development Semester Units including Child, Family, and Community
Desired Qualifications
- Less than 1 year of experience
- High school degree
- Reliable and flexible when accepting jobs at different sites
