Job Summary
Follow the regular teacher's lesson plans, both written and oral, to ensure consistency within learning. Assign classwork and homework according to these plans while evaluating and providing feedback on student progress during instruction. Maintain and manage classroom behavior in a positive environment, and supervise students out of class in hallways and the cafeteria. Communicate effectively with other faculty members and comply with all school policies and operating procedures. Complete the interview process and background check to be scheduled for substitute positions covering sixth to eighth grade.
Required Qualifications
- Classroom experience
- Able to perform light physical work such as walking students to different location in the school and standing for extended periods of time
- Available to accept a substitute position the day one is needed and/or accept jobs if scheduled ahead of time
- Complete interview process as well as background check
Desired Qualifications
- College degree preferred, preferably in education, child-centered, or related field
