Job Summary
Provide direct school health services under the clinical supervision of the School Health Coordinator or the School Nurse (R.N.), including administering mandated screening procedures, maintaining student health records, and coordinating with administrators, health staff, parents, and other professionals to support the health needs of students. Implement school health protocols and care plans, participate in ARD/IEP processes, perform home visits when necessary, attend staff meetings, guide unlicensed personnel under RN direction, ensure confidentiality, and use technology as appropriate to the school health program.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed Vocational Nurse with valid Texas license
- Vision, Hearing, and Spinal Screening Certification
- CPR certification
- Seizure First Aid/Stop the Bleed
- Two (2) years’ experience preferred in Community Health and/or pediatric nursing.
