Job Summary
Provide classroom instruction and supervision in the absence of the assigned teacher, ensuring accountability for student assignments and work completion. Monitor and record student attendance, grade student assignments as directed, and communicate with students and parents as needed. Provide updates to the teacher of record upon their return and communicate weekly availability with supervisors. Offer instructional support to center teaching staff, assist with grading, and support center organization and day-to-day operations. Maintain a flexible schedule to meet staffing needs, including travel to other locations as needed. Work Monday through Friday, typically between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, at a rate of $16.00-$17.00 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Software
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Ability to communicate with co-workers, students/parents, and business contacts in a courteous and professional manner
- Strong organizational and proofreading skills, with attention to detail
- Ability to follow up on task commitments and give updates as needed
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining courtesy and professionalism
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed
- Ability to make decisions, exercising reasonable independent judgment and discretion with minimal guidance and/or supervision
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with youth, students, or in an educational setting
