Job Summary
Assist in providing health care services to students and staff by attending to those who become ill or have accidents requiring medical attention. Make necessary referrals to community healthcare resources after consulting with the nurse, assist in maintaining the school health office and records, and help ensure all students have required immunizations. Support nurses with medication administration, monitor supplies and equipment, and complete paperwork, accident reports, and daily logs of students seen. Notify the building Principal and Lead District Nurse of emergencies, outbreaks, and suspected child neglect or abuse.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Arizona DPS IVP Fingerprint Clearance card
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Nursing Assistant Certification
- Emergency Technician Certification
- Medication Aide Certification
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and AED Certification
- American Heart First Aid Course completed within 3 months of hire
- Hearing and Vision Screening Certification
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures and practices
- Knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA guidelines, rules and regulations
- Skill in performing basic medical procedures
- Skill in maintaining files, reports and other medical documentation
- Skill in operating office equipment, and computer applications
- Skill in communicating orally and in writing
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with both adults and children
Desired Qualifications
