Job Summary
Unload food and supplies from trucks, store items properly, and maintain temperatures per HACCP guidelines. Prepare high-quality products, serve food in proper portions following "offer vs. serve" standards, and hold hot/cold foods at correct temperatures. Clean dining and kitchen areas, including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and equipment maintenance. Record transactions on computers, balance money daily, and maintain temperature and production records. Monitor playground and recess duty while rotating through all operation areas. Work 2 hours daily in 10:30am–12:30pm or 11:00am–1:00pm shifts under heat and humidity, lifting up to 50 pounds and standing constantly.
Required Qualifications
- Lifting up to 50 pounds frequently
- Standing or walking constantly
- The ability to climb stairs carrying food/ food items or supplies
- A pleasant, positive attitude
- Computer & cashier experience or the willingness to learn a must
- Ability to work with children in a culturally diverse working environment
- A high school diploma or GED
- Must possess the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals and groups from all levels of the organization, including departmental staff, principals, and central administration, as well as students, parents, and community members
- The individual must have effective listening skills
- Being punctual
- Must have the ability to multi-task
- Must be able to work under heat and stress conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and be on your feet for long periods of time
Desired Qualifications
- 2-3 years' experience in food service
- Computer/cash register experience
