Job Summary
Substitute Early Learning Instructional Assistant Deaf/HH (Preschool) responsibilities include assisting the Teacher in implementing instructional objectives and IEP goals, tutoring students in academic and daily living skills in both individual and group settings, monitoring and maintaining student files, assisting in lifting and caring for students (including toileting, feeding, hygiene), transporting students as needed, and participating in ongoing training. Required skills include monitoring/performance assessment, augmentative communication, time management, organization, and the ability to work with minimal supervision; ASL skills are a plus. Must pass FBI and State background checks, hold a High School Diploma and an Associate's Degree or 60 college units or paraprofessional certification, possess a valid AZ driver’s license, and have or obtain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Intervention Training. Location is Tucson Campus; schedule is temporary with as-needed hours.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- Associate's Degree OR completion of 60 units of college coursework OR a valid Paraprofessional certification
- Current Arizona Driver's License
- CPR, First Aid, and Crisis Intervention Training certifications or ability to obtain within required timeline
- ASL skills if working with students/staff who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Braille skills if working with students who are blind/visually impaired
