Job Summary
Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Strip, wax, and buff floors as needed while operating floor cleaning equipment. Report maintenance issues such as broken fixtures or leaky faucets to the maintenance department and assist with minor repairs like replacing light bulbs. Prepare classrooms and meeting rooms for events by setting up and tearing down tables and chairs. Ensure all doors and windows are securely locked and follow school security protocols. Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, report shortages, and assist with outdoor maintenance including snow removal and grounds clean-up. Communicate effectively with staff regarding cleaning needs and safety hazards. Available to work a non-traditional schedule and irregular hours as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Available to work a non-traditional schedule and irregular hours, as needed
- Displays flexibility, reliability, self-discipline and a willingness to take on challenging tasks
- Embodies high ethical standards/integrity
- Accepts responsibility for personal decisions/conduct
- Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
- Must be able to lift/move materials weighing up to fifty pounds
- Must be able to operate power equipment
- Must be able to use hand tools
- Must be able to work from ladders, scaffolds or mechanical lifts
