Job Summary
Conduct daily cleaning of school buildings and grounds, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing restrooms. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as repairing broken windows, unclogging drains, fixing light bulbs, and adjusting heating systems. Maintain inventory of supplies like toilet paper and towels while ensuring trash is emptied and waste areas are sanitized. Keep walkways clear of snow and ice and attend promptly to spills or emergencies. Operate equipment safely and comply with all Board of Education rules and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Successfully pass or have passed the WV State Competency Exam for Custodian Classification
- Proficient skills related to custodial duties
- Agree to participate in scheduled job shadowing training as it pertains to current job classification
