Job Summary
As a Substitute Teacher for Campus Adventures Staffing Solutions, you will deliver lesson plans in the absence of the regular teacher, maintain a safe, positive classroom, implement classroom management strategies, adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs, collaborate with staff, and provide feedback on student progress. You will complete TEA-required training, be prepared for fingerprinting/background checks, and maintain engagement across grades with emphasis on math and literacy planning, effective communication, and maintaining continuity of learning in a part-time, contract capacity.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass a background check
- Strong writing, reading and communication skills in English
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and maintain discipline
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different grade levels and subject areas
- Prior experience working with students in an educational setting is preferred
- Be able to remain active for up to 8 hours consecutively
- Physically able to monitor classrooms and students, navigate for emergencies
- Ability to perform CPR
- High-touch communication with regular classroom teacher
