Job Summary
Assist assigned students with entering and exiting the school district vehicle and while commuting, operating lifts for wheelchairs and securing special equipment. Monitor land and unloading areas for dangers, facilitate student conduct, and report concerns to the Supervisor. Communicate appropriately with students, parents, and employees while assisting the driver as needed. Maintain regular attendance per the established work schedule and perform other duties as assigned. Requires current CPI, CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.
Required Qualifications
- High school graduate or a General Education Diploma (GED)
- Current Certification in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- First Aid Certification
- Ability to physically manage students and equipment
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and School Board policies
Desired Qualifications
- Two or more years' experience working with school aged children
- Associate's degree in childcare or related field
