Job Summary
Operate a school bus on assigned routes, picking up and dropping off students safely and on time while maintaining order during transport. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and ensure strict adherence to traffic laws, district policies, and safety protocols. Communicate with school staff and transportation supervisors as needed. Must possess a valid NYS Class B CDL with "P" and "S" endorsements, be at least 21 years of age, and complete required training.
Required Qualifications
- Must meet the Chautauqua County Civil Service requirements.
- Possession, at time of appointment and during service in this classification, of a valid NYS Class B CDL with 'P' and 'S' endorsements.
- Candidates must be at least 21 years of age and complete training requirements specified by the NYS Department of Education pursuant to 8 NYCRR Education (A) Part 156.
- Clean driving record and successful completion of required training.
- Ability to manage student behavior calmly and effectively.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and professional.
