Job Summary
Part-time Substitute Bus Driver to operate on daily routes and special destinations, ensuring safe student transportation. Responsibilities include driving the bus on regular routes, performing pre-trip checks, maintaining discipline aboard the bus, reporting defects, adhering to safety rules and district policies, assisting in warehouse tasks, supporting Child Nutrition functions, and attending required district training. Required skills include operating a school bus, following procedures, reading and writing reports, and communicating with administrators and the public. Must obtain an Arizona DPS-level one IVP fingerprint clearance card, hold a valid Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, and possess a school bus driver certificate. CPR/First Aid certification and the ability to pass a physical agility test are also required; lifting up to 125 pounds and other physical demands are listed. This is a part-time role with no benefits, located in Phoenix, AZ.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- A valid Arizona Class B (CDL) Drivers License with passenger endorsement
- A school bus driver Certificate issued by the Department of Public Safety
- Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by Arizona DPS
- Must pass physical agility test and be able to lift/move up to 125 pounds
- Must pass a drug test
- Must have a clean driving record
- One year bus-driving experience preferred
- Maricopa County Food Handler’s Permit encouraged
- Ability to read and interpret written information related to the job
- Ability to write basic reports and general correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, staff, and the public
