Substitute Bus Aide

Job Summary
Ensure safety belts are worn by all students, sweep and clean the bus interior including windows, floors, and seats, and assist students on and off buses as needed. Maintain order and discipline, discharge students only in the presence of a teacher or aide, and prevent children from hitching on when skating or riding bicycles. Administer first aid when necessary, prepare accident reports immediately after incidents, and communicate with homes or notify the driver and office of absences. Substitute for the bus driver as needed and perform other duties assigned by the Transportation Supervisor. Work 5 hours per day at the Transportation Building in Lawrence, MI.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of State School Bus Driver Training Program
- Ability to qualify for bus driver's license
- Valid Driver's License
- Exhibit satisfactory performance on both a written and driving competency test
- Possess the physical strength to perform the required tasks
- Regular and reliable, in person attendance
