Job Summary
Maintain the cleanliness, neatness, and general environment of assigned school building interiors and facilities. Keep school premises, including sidewalks, driveways, yards, and playgrounds, in a neat and clean manner at all times. Respond to emergency calls as needed. Use a variety of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and water extractors, and operate grounds maintenance equipment like lawnmowers and snow blowers. Lift, twist, and bend while frequently standing, walking, and handling materials up to 50 pounds. Work Monday through Friday shifts beginning at 3 PM, with options for 5, 6, 7, or 8-hour days.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 18 or older
- One to three months related experience
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence
- Ability to converse with principals, staff, students, and parents
- Ability to complete basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide)
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
- Ability to use a variety of cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and water extractors
- Ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment such as lawnmowers and snow blowers
- Ability to lift, twist and bend
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Ability to talk and hear
