Job Summary
Conduct conduit installation, ground grid setup, and precast trench layout while assisting with structural steel, apparatus, and bus work. Install cable trays for management and support low-voltage cable wiring and basic electrical tasks. Develop proficiency in substation materials, tools, and consumables through hands-on field work under Foremen and Supervisors. Maintain a safety-first mindset and demonstrate strong work ethic in a fast-paced construction environment. This role offers a clear pathway from Apprentice to Foreman within Southern Electric's utility construction teams.
Required Qualifications
- Exposure or experience in: Conduit installation and routing
- Exposure or experience in: Ground grid installation and basic grounding practices
- Exposure or experience in: Precast trench installation and layout
- Exposure or experience in: Cable tray installation for cable management
- Exposure or experience in: Structural steel installation support
- Exposure or experience in: Apparatus installation assistance
- Exposure or experience in: Bus work installation support
- Exposure or experience in: Low-voltage cable installation and basic wiring
- Developing a working knowledge of substation materials, consumables, and tools, and understanding of their application in the field
