Job Summary
Lead complex substation projects from concept through commissioning, directing multidisciplinary teams across electrical, civil, and structural engineering; manage scope, schedule, and budget; serve as primary client contact; ensure compliance with NEC/NESC and QA/QC; develop protection and control designs, including one-line diagrams, relay schemes, and layout plans; support field engineering, commissioning, and troubleshooting during construction; mentor junior staff and contribute to proposals and resource planning; travel as needed; employer offers ESOP and robust benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- 12+ years in substation engineering, design, or consulting
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (state-specific licensure or ability to obtain)
- Valid driver’s license
- Travel ability
- Proficiency with engineering design tools and CAD
- Knowledge of NEC and NESC
- Strong communication and leadership skills
