Job Summary
Substation Project Manager responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Manages scoping, budgeting, scheduling, planning, executing, monitoring and reporting of substation projects and proposals; oversees project team of design engineers, drafters and support staff; enforces ECI's quality control procedures; coordinates with multiple discipline groups (Distribution Studies, Transmission Studies, Grounding Studies, Protection, Civil, SCADA Integration, Transmission Engineering, Environmental Planning, Surveying, Lands/Right-of-Way, PM/Controls) to ensure successful project execution; serves as primary client interface and provides technical mentorship; occasional travel required; location options include Omaha, Columbus, or Lincoln, NE; requires a degree in Electrical Engineering and significant project management experience; PE and PMP preferred; salary commensurate with experience; benefits include medical/dental/vision, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurance, 401(k)/profit sharing/ESOP, paid time off and parental leave, professional development reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years' project engineering experience
- 2+ years of demonstrated project management and leadership experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness and ability to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license and PMP certification are preferred
