Substation Project Engineer

Job Summary
Project Engineer will be responsible for the conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new, upgraded and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Responsibilities include development and delivery of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications. Will assist the Project Manager with planning and execution, coordinate with client and stakeholders, mentor design staff, ensure project quality assurance, and oversee design personnel. Will coordinate tasks with discipline groups (distribution/transmission studies, grounding, protection/relay coordination, civil, SCADA/communication, environmental planning, surveying, ROW, and project controls). Occasional travel may be required; must meet client-mandated background checks; sponsorship for visa status is not required now or in the future. An Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license preferred
