Job Summary
Project Engineer for substations to perform conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design for new, upgraded, and expanded substations, including material procurement, construction and commissioning/startup support through energization. Responsibilities include development of physical, electrical, civil and communication design studies, calculations, drawings, exhibits and specifications; assist the Project Manager in planning and execution; client and stakeholder coordination; training and mentoring of design staff; project quality assurance; and oversight of design engineers, designers, drafters and support staff. Coordinate tasks with discipline groups (Distribution/Transmission Studies, Grounding, Protection, Civil, SCADA/Communication, Environmental Planning, Surveying, ROW, and Project Management/Controls). Occasional travel is required; PE license is preferred; sponsorship not required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6+ years of project and design engineering experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong organization and planning skills
- ability to work in a team environment
- commitment to quality and accuracy
- willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules
- PE license is preferred
